It first appeared at a special event in New York in December 2009, initially without a specific name and in a single size. The excellent reception it received led Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial cigars to include it in regular production under its own name, changing the brand name to Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial cigars after that night.
